In this event, Park Chae-eun 스포츠토토 (Korea National Sport University) finished third with a time of 1:21.85, winning the bronze medal and climbing the podium with Kim Min-seon.
Kim Min-sun has risen to the world’s strongest in the short distance by winning all four races of the International Skating Union (ISU) Speed Skating World Cup women’s 500m in the 2022/23 season.
In the 1000 m, however, she never won a medal except for a silver medal at the first round of the World Cup.
However, in the U competition where mostly college students participate, she was able to win the 1000m even with Kim Min-seon’s skills.
Kim Min-sun, who started the last group 18 out course, passed the first 200m in 18.52 seconds, the fastest among 35 participants, and continued to maintain her speed.
However, since her arena was her outdoor rink, she ran into air resistance, so she came in considerably slower than her own 1000m best of 1:13:79.
Kim Min-seon is aiming for two gold medals in her U competition in the women’s 500m on the 20th.
