It is her 7th career victory, one year and eight months after winning the 2021 Hanwha Classic. Lee Da-yeon, who received her winning prize of 234 million won, rose vertically to second place in the prize money rankings (271.65 million won). Lee Da-yeon, who won three major tournaments, including the 2019 Korean Women’s Open and the 2021 Hanwha Classic, took a step closer to the career grand slam.
Lee Da-yeon, who entered the final round with a tie for the lead with her Bang Sin-sil, regained her joint lead position with a birdie on the 2nd hole (par 4), which had been given up by her bogey on the 1st hole (par 5). Since then, she has been in the lead all along, but Bang Shin-sil, who first competed in a KLPGA Tour event, doggedly pursued Lee Da-yeon. Bang Shin-sil hit consecutive birdies on holes 10 to 12 and caught up with the lead.
The game was split on the 15th hole (par 5). Lee Da-yeon put in a 4m birdie putt first, and Bang Shin-sil made a birdie putt from a shorter distance and passed the hole. As Bang Shin-sil failed to put in a 1.2m par putt, Lee Da-yeon took the lead by two strokes. Lee Da-yeon put a 4.5m birdie putt in the following hole 16 (par 4) to put a wedge, and also put an 8m birdie putt in the 17th hole (par 3) to celebrate the victory in advance.
Son Ye-bin, who shot 3 under par 69, and Park Gyeol, who cut 2 strokes, tied for second place (9 under par, 279 strokes). Bang Shin-sil tied for 4th in the championship (8 under par, 280 strokes). Defending champion Kim A-lim lost 3 strokes and finished the tournament tied for 22nd (2 under par 286 strokes).
