Jobbatical
Jobbatical is a Tallinn-founded global-mobility platform launched in 2014 by Karoli Hindriks. The product started as a job board matching international talent with companies willing to sponsor relocation, and pivoted in 2019 into a full relocation-and-immigration-automation stack that handles visa applications, work permits, tax residency paperwork and family-member logistics across 30+ countries.
Jobbatical raised a EUR 5.9M Series A in 2018 and a EUR 11M Series B in 2023 led by Plural (Taavet Hinrikus's fund) and Karma Ventures. Customers include Bolt, Veriff, Pipedrive, Wise and dozens of other European scaleups plus enterprise customers expanding into new geographies.
The operating entity is Jobbatical OU. Hindriks remains CEO and has become one of the most visible advocates of Estonian e-Residency internationally, serving on the program's advisory board since 2015.

Tax strategy
Jobbatical is an interesting case because the product is, in effect, a regulatory API. Every country has a different work-permit system, different salary thresholds, different proof-of-means requirements, different tax-residency triggers. The pain for a scaling European employer - a Bolt, a Veriff, a Pipedrive - is not finding talent; it is moving the talent legally and paying for it correctly once they arrive. Jobbatical automates that pipeline.

Estonia e-Residency play
The business matters for Estonian company-formation context because it is downstream of the e-Residency program. Estonia sells the idea that you can run a company from anywhere; Jobbatical sells the adjacent idea that you can move your employees anywhere. The two concepts reinforce each other - Jobbatical is a natural user of e-Residency data (its customers' founders are often e-Residents), and its own Estonian OU structure is a case study in how e-Residency-era companies are organised.

Estonia e-Residency play
Structurally, Jobbatical is a classic Series-B-stage Estonian company: operating inside an OU, raised mostly from European investors (Plural, Karma, Change Ventures), no Delaware flip yet. A US growth-equity lead at Series C would force the flip, but Plural-led rounds typically do not.

Estonia e-Residency play
Jobbatical also matters as a proxy for Estonian soft power. Hindriks travels internationally as an e-Residency ambassador, speaks at EU-level mobility summits, and uses Jobbatical's data to argue for more open high-skill immigration in Europe. That kind of founder-policy feedback loop is possible because Estonia is small enough - the e-Residency managing director probably has her on WhatsApp - and is part of what makes Tallinn a usable jurisdiction for policy-adjacent startups.
