The software-plus-adviser model suits freelancers, contractors and small limited companies who want day-to-day accounts handled in an app with professional backup.
"Accountant" is not a protected title in the UK, so the credentials to look for are exactly what Crunch publishes: ACCA accreditation and FCA authorisation (for its regulated activities). For a statutory audit you would separately need a Registered Auditor — a different credential.
