Choosing Visa Consultants in Germany
Business and self-employment visas for Germany are decided by the Auslanderbehorde (foreigners’ authority) and German missions abroad, under the Residence Act (Aufenthaltsgesetz). A consultant can prepare and coordinate an application, but giving legal advice on your case is reserved to an admitted Rechtsanwalt — a non-lawyer consultant may assist with paperwork but not represent you legally.
Before engaging one: be clear whether you are buying administrative help (form-filling, appointment booking, document checklists) or actual legal representation, and if the latter, that a Rechtsanwalt is involved. The official Make it in Germany portal sets out the visa categories and requirements.
