Choosing Formation Agents in Hong Kong

Hong Kong has one of the clearest credential checks anywhere for this work. Anyone incorporating a company for you or acting as its company secretary must hold a Trust or Company Service Provider (TCSP) licence from the Companies Registry under the Anti-Money-Laundering Ordinance. Operating without one is a criminal offence, and there is a free public licensee search.

So the first question to any Hong Kong formation firm is simply: what is your TCSP licence number? Beyond that, compare what happens after incorporation — every company needs a company secretary and a registered address, and annual returns and employer filings follow. Get the first-year total, not just the setup fee.

Regulator: Companies Registry TCSP licence (Anti-Money Laundering Ordinance). Official source. Checked 19 July 2026.
