How this is regulated in UAE (Dubai)
There is an important distinction here: licensed advocates are UAE nationals who may appear in UAE courts, while legal consultants may advise but may not appear in court, and most expatriate lawyers in Dubai are legal consultants. Dubai advocates register with the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department. DIFC maintains its own register of legal practitioners.
The UAE has no single national companies register. Dubai mainland companies are licensed by the Department of Economy and Tourism, while DIFC and ADGM are separate common-law free zones with their own registrars and public registers.
