Choosing Accountants in Singapore
“Accountant” is not a licensed title in Singapore on its own — but statutory audit is. Only a Public Accountant registered with ACRA may sign an audit, so if your company needs one (and many exempt private companies do not), that registration is the fact to confirm. For everything short of audit — bookkeeping, management accounts, tax computations — the credential to look for is the CA (Singapore) designation controlled by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
Most firms here bundle accounting with corporate secretarial and filing, so also confirm they are an ACRA-registered filing agent under the Corporate Service Providers Act 2024 if they will lodge filings for you, and that they handle XBRL, which Singapore requires for most companies' financial statements.
