Choosing Tax Advisors in Turkey
Turkiye has no separate "tax adviser" licence — a generic vergi danışmanı holds no title. Tax work sits inside the Law No. 3568 professions, where the YMM (sworn-in CPA) can perform the statutory tax-attestation function that an SMMM cannot. That distinction is the most useful thing to understand before engaging anyone for Turkish tax.
For a foreign business the questions that matter are whether the adviser can represent you before the tax office, handle cross-border and treaty issues, and manage the domestic minimum corporate tax introduced from 2025. Verify their SMMM/YMM registration with the local chamber.
